An original collagraph print combining collagraph and chine collé — a layering technique in which fine tissue papers are adhered to the print during pressing, adding depth, colour, and a delicate translucency to the surface.
This is a framed, unique work. 
 
Inspiration
Much of my work begins with looking at the land from a distance — the view from a high point, or the clarity of an aerial map or a view from a drone; our neighbour owns one.
 
 From above, a field is a document: drill lines running in parallel, the curve of a field edge, a track worn by the same route taken so many times. The traces of people and animals moving across the land over years, made visible all at once.
 
The colours in this print come from that source — ochres and raw siennas from the turned earth, pale greens from new growth.
