About This Print
A unique, one-of-a-kind collagraph print of leaves with light— there is only one in existence.
The surface carries layered marks built up through the collagraph process. Earth pigments, combined with printing ink, lend warmth and depth, connecting the work to nature.
Inspiration
There's a stillness that happens when you stand beneath a tree in full leaf and the light finds its way through. It isn't constant; it shifts, breaks, disappears and fleetingly returns. The Japanese have a term for it: komorebi.
These prints grew from that experience in the woodland walks we take here. Working with earth pigments and printing ink, I'm drawn to the tension between control and accident that collagraph allows — the way a mark can be precise in one moment and completely unpredictable in the next. That feels true to the light itself.
