Fractured beauty is a limited edition giclée print. The bowl itself has a maidenhair fern, which although  is something I have had in my indoor plants collection, these ancient ferns don't stay with me for as long as I'd like.

Each original bowl is a mixed media piece. Cranfield inks in a variety of tones and colours are hand inked onto the botanical element and  collagraph plate before printing. Find out how I make collagraph plates, like this print and my pebble prints on my blog.

The Finer Details

Gicleé print from an original collagraph.

This is a limited edition Gicleé print (it is a digital reproduction from the original).

This print is also available with hand embelished gold foil, to represent a repair based on the Kintsugi technique, of celebrating mends and the poetic history found in fractures. Please let me know at the time of ordering which you would prefer.

How Its Made

I take time to create, by hand, the collagraph, using a range of tools and materials. The plant itself is pressed (sometimes for weeks) before committing to print. I ink up the collagraph plate, then run it through my etching press, hand cranking it onto pre dampened paper.

The Gicleé prints are digital images, using a specialist printer with 12 ink tanks.

The gold foil element is hand applied so each one is unique. The print may be purchsed with or without this addition. Please let me know which you would prefer when purchasing.

All prints come unframed, and are signed, titled and numbered by hand.
