Inspiration

This beautiful 'Lapsana' print is an original handprinted collagraph created with pressed botanicals and sustainable inks.

Nipplewort, a native British plant grows in disturbed land of all kinds. The colours rare olive greens, earthy clays and dusky pink/coppery mica which gently sparkles. The work is inspired by a pottery shape I am repeatedly drawn to There is a blog post about the printing techniq I emply below.

How Its Made

This monoprint was created using a unique printmaking technique, Monoprints are one-of-a-kind images, where ink is applied to a surface, then transferred to paper. I created this one using my Gunning press. Each print is distinct and cannot be replicated exactly. If you'd like to learn more about the creation of collagraph prints in general, read my related blog post So... What is a collagraph print...?

All prints come unframed, unmounted, wrapped in compostable cellophane with a recycled card backing. Each print is individually hand signed, embossed with my logo and numbered.
