Details A gigclee accordian/concertina book, created from a series of my botanical prints.
 
The individual sections look, weathered and worn, and show honesty, small leaved lime and ferns, in rusty burnt orange and charcoal colours.
 
It can be placed on a shelf or table and easily moved to a new nook or shelf, as it needs no frame.

How Its Made
I take time to create, by hand, the initial intaglio prints. The plants grown from seed by me, then pressed (sometimes for weeks) before committing to print. I ink up the plate and botanical element, then run it through my etching press, hand cranking it onto pre dampened paper. I photograph these, then digitally combine them to make these shelf pieces.
 
The Gicleé prints are created using a specialist printer with 12 ink tanks.
 
All prints come unframed, unmounted, wrapped in compostable cellophane, with a recycled card backing.
