Inspiration

The raised lines of 'A Silent Repair' kintsugi print emulate the texture of actual cracks repaired with laquer.

This blind embossed bowl print creates an undulating design on cotton paper without ink. The raised texture lends dimensionality and visual interest, subtly highlighted by shadows that shift with the light. The 24ct gold embellishments glint as the sunlight changes. The tactile quality and singular variations contribute to its understated, timeless beauty and its lack of colour means it would fit well with many a decorating scheme.

How Its Made

This monoprint was created using a unique printmaking technique. Monoprints are one-of-a-kind images, where ink is usually applied to a surface, then transferred to paper. This print however is a bling emboss so no ink is applied, rather the beauty is in the shados the embossed and debossed elements of the piece. I created this one using my Gunning press. Each print is distinct and cannot be replicated exactly. If you'd like to learn more about the creation of prints in general, read my related blog post Printmaking FAQs

All prints come unframed, wrapped in compostable cellophane with a recycled card backing. Each print is individually hand signed, embossed with my logo and numbered.
