This beautiful 'After The Storm' print is a hand made collagraph, created with pressed dried flowers and sustainable inks.

Its unique design is inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which celebrates the beauty of imperfection  pieces. Broken pottery is elevated by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum, emphasizing the fractures   and instead of hiding them. It represents embracing flaws and imperfections as part of an object's unique history and beauty. If you're interedted to learn more about my inspiration for ceramic based prints see my blog bost, Imperfect Pots- From Inspiration To Botanical Collagraph Prints.

The print is further enhanced by a blind emboss detail on delicate Japanese paper, adding a subtle texture and dimension to the piece. It will make a quiet statement in any room and is sure to start some interesting discussions.

How Its Made

This monoprint was created using a unique printmaking technique, Monoprints are one-of-a-kind images, where ink is applied to a surface, then transferred to paper. I created this one using my Gunning press. Each print is distinct and cannot be replicated exactly. If you'd like to learn more about the creation of collagraph prints in general, read my related blog post So... What is a collagraph print...?

All prints come unframed, wrapped in compostable cellophane with a recycled card backing. Each print is individually hand signed, embossed with my logo and numbered.
